Check Test Training

C.P.D. courses coming soon. Please ring for details
Very Often "Check Tests" are grossly misunderstood by many ADIs, both recently qualified and also many of those who are established in the business. Many do not know how to prepare, who is and is not a suitable pupil for the test (or should I ask for "role play?"), what to do in the test itself and what not to do, or indeed what the S.E. is looking for.
Alarmingly this lack of clear understanding is often the result of "waiting room banter" and "advice" from other ADIs who are just as lacking in knowledge or understanding or both as you may be!
Secondly, the fault also partly lies with the industry we work in and the way it works. Many ADIs are very protective of their "knowledge" (be it right or wrong) and don't like to share it in case they are giving someone else an "edge" in this self-employed cut-throat industry.
Thirdly and perhaps "the big reason", is that nobody likes to admit that "I need help!" and this is probably the main reason that check tests do not go as well as the ADI or the S.E. would have liked just because "help" has not been sought out. So, the fact that you are reading this suggests that you may need some help with your check test. This should never be seen as a "weakness" but in fact a strength:-
The recognition that to stay effective and up to date, to be able to give value for money to your customers and to establish good pass rates and therefore good referrals requires regular refresher training. After all, if you have experienced other employment in other professions/industries you will be aware of the constant training/refresher training that goes on. And yet for some reason many in the "driver training" industry do not see this as necessary! It most certainly is.
We at EXCEED are able to not only dispel the myths surrounding the "check test" but also to guide you through all stages of the test including the preparation, pupil selection, subject choice, how to deal with the S.E. and what to expect in the de-brief.
All of the above done correctly should help to calm nerves and change your attitude towards check tests from something to be feared into something that can be enjoyed and used as a tool to show off your skills! And hopefully - GET THAT GRADE 6.
Please feel free to ring and arrange an informal chat, over a coffee perhaps, so that together we can achieve the above.
FEEDBACK
Just wanted to say a massive thanks for helping to put some structure into my instructing. I am now able to teach to a far higher standard than I ever have before. After coming to you for help with my check test, I seem to have picked up so much more than I thought would be possible. I've been teaching for over six years now and have a good pass rate, so assumed I had it pretty much sussed. Unfortunately the check test showed up areas I needed to work in, and you have shone light in just the right places. I have now passed the check test with a solid pass and a huge sigh of relief. However this is just the beginning and you'll be seeing more of me through the years as I'm going keep up with refresher sessions.

RECOMMENDATION:
Having completed some extra training with Neil to help with my check test I would like to take the time to thank him for the help he gave me, not only with my teaching skills but also with the general running of my business, training aids, and pupil records.
We had some very productive sessions and discussions regarding the job and I gained a lot by just listening then developing my own technique.
At this stage in my career I could have done without the expense of more training but I consider it an investment, I want to give my pupils the best training I can and Neil has the experience and ability to help me do just that.
I will be continuing my development with Neil and if you are an instructor who wants the best for your pupils I would recommend you follow suit.
